I'm Andrew Van Duyn '12, and I have been working at Notre Dame for the two weeks. It is sort of a tune up and a way to prepare myself for SRH in the fall. I have had a sink or swim experience in the nanotechnology department here. I got a quick intro into lab procedures, then plunged into a junior level engineering course on LEDs.

Next I will be working with solar cell technology, testing the efficiency of solar cells at different wavelengths and intensity of light. The experiment involves shining a laser beam on a solar cell. I have done initial data collection with solar cells. I have taken the current generated, along with the power of the laser beam at different wavelengths.
